founded in 2011, calliope creates new work inspired by literature and poetry, often organically through long-form improvisation. we aim to question and subvert theatrical forms, genres, structures, and other assumptions, thereby creating a place to play that is uniquely our own—one of truth, mystery, and epic exploration.
